17K Visual Image Survey Results
On November 14th, 2006 the public was invited by Behan Planning Associates to a workshop as part of the Town of Montgomery planning efforts to update the land use plan and zoning ordinance for the Route17k corridor and environs. When complete, the project will serve as a guide for future economic growth and change in this area including potential development resulting from the creation of the new exit off Interstate 84 at Drury Lane. This survey was a result of this public workshop.

Conservation Advisory Council
The Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) currently has six members and is looking for three more interested applicants to fill the additional three slots approved by the Town Board. We meet once a month on the 2nd Thursday,7:00 pm at the Town Hall. Our main mission is to conduct a Natural Resources Inventory of the Town to be used to help conserve open areas and direct development away from more sensitive areas. We would like to have representation from all three villages. If interested, please send a letter stating why you would like to join the Council and what skills you could offer the group in its work. We are looking for people who have alot of time and energy to work on projects and attend occasional Planning Board meetings as well. Send your letter to the Supervisor's Office, 110 Bracken Road, Montgomery, NY 12549, attention Patricia Henighan.

Draft 17K/208 Corridor Study Report
The primary goal of this study was to identify how the current
zoning in these areas could be improved to promote desired land use patterns and design character and to shape the expected growth in specific areas while preserving the natural or rural character of
other areas.

TOWN OF MONTGOMERY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
The Town has formed an Economic Development Advisory Committee to directly participate in the planning process with the professional firm hired by the Town Board. This advisory group was selected and appointed by the Town Board and includes a voting seat for each member of the committee. The farming and business community, all of the villages and several Town Boards have representatives.
