Mission Statement

The Town of Montgomery Seniors Independence Project is committed to supporting seniors in their goal to remain independent in their homes rather than moving on to institutional settings by developing a program to coordinate volunteers and reliable vendors to provide services necessary to achieve this goal.

We strive to keep seniors in the community both for their benefit and also to enrich the community as a whole with their companionship, experience and wisdom.

Neighbors helping neighbors = What our community is all about!!

The Project covers all of the Town of Montgomery: Maybrook, Walden, and Montgomery.  The Town has organized a volunteer program to help our senior neighbors remain independent and safe.

Provides:

- Rides — for doctor appointments, grocery store runs, beauty/barber, bank, library.
- Indoors — Simple chores & occasional light housekeeping — vacuuming, dusting, changing   the light bulbs.
- Outdoors — Assist with lawn care, snow shoveling, leaf raking, spring clean-up.
- Volunteers or Groups can be matched one-to-one with our neighbors needing help.
